The IOA programme for singers and repetiteurs covers two years of full-time, intensive technical study and performing experience. The programme is set up to prepare students for future professional careers as opera singers or repetiteurs.

As such, students enrol in an educational programme structured around four main pillars:

1. interpretation and technique

2. acting and movement

3.  opera theory

4.  practice

During the first year, all students follow the same curriculum, which is centred on musical interpretation and technique, while still allowing the students to gain initial concert and performance experience.

In the second ‘à la carte’ year, the practice of productions and potential internships ensures that students gain experience as performing artists. During this second year, the curriculum of each student is structured individually, according to the student’s specific needs and potential.
